What is a hotel transfer?

A hotel transfer is pre-booked chauffeur-driven transport between the airport and the hotel, or between hotels. The difference is less that the address is a hotel rather than a home, and more that the meet and greet and drop-off arrangements are planned according to the hotel’s operations.

How does it work at the hotel entrance?

The driver pulls the vehicle up to the hotel entrance canopy or the waiting point indicated by the hotel. Luggage is taken from the vehicle and carried to reception. For boutique hotels on narrow streets, the vehicle stops at the nearest suitable point; this is stated in advance in the booking confirmation.

Return from the hotel to the airport

Your return time is determined by your flight time. For domestic flights, you need to be at the airport 2 hours before departure, and for international flights 3 hours before; travel time and a buffer for busy periods are added to this. For departures between 07:00-10:00 in the morning and 17:00-20:00 in the evening, an extra 25-40 minutes should be allowed.

Journey times to city-centre hotels

From Istanbul Airport to hotels around Taksim and Şişli, allow 45-60 minutes in normal traffic, and a similar time to Sultanahmet. From Sabiha Gökçen, it takes 60-80 minutes to hotels on the European side and 35-50 minutes to hotels on the Asian side.

Group and corporate hotel transfers

For congresses, weddings or corporate events where multiple guests are arriving at the same hotel, grouping is arranged according to flight times. Guests landing at similar times are brought together in one vehicle, while separate vehicles are planned for those arriving at different times. A minibus is used for up to 25 people, and a coach for up to 45 people.

What should be provided when booking?

The hotel’s full name and address, flight number, number of passengers and suitcases, and arrival time. As there may be businesses with similar hotel names, providing the full address removes the risk of going to the wrong place.

Where will the driver meet me for a hotel transfer?+

For airport arrivals, after baggage claim, you will be met in the arrivals hall with a name board. For hotel departures, the vehicle pulls up to the hotel entrance point and you are collected from reception.

When should I leave the hotel for the airport?+

For domestic flights, you need to be at the airport 2 hours before departure. For international flights, 3 hours before. You should add the journey time and a traffic buffer of 25-40 minutes during busy periods.

Will the driver carry my luggage?+

Yes. Luggage is taken from the vehicle and carried to reception at the hotel entrance. On arrivals, your luggage is also carried from the airport to the vehicle.

Can a vehicle reach a hotel on a narrow street?+

The vehicle stops at the nearest suitable point and the luggage is carried from there. This is stated in advance in the booking confirmation, so there are no surprises at the hotel door.

We are arriving at the same hotel as a group, is one vehicle possible?+

A minibus is used for up to 25 people, and a coach for up to 45 people. If the flight times are close, yes, you will be brought together in one vehicle. If the times are spread out, separate vehicles are planned.
