How does an Istanbul day tour work?

The vehicle and driver are assigned to you for the whole day. You do not join a crowded group tour; the programme is arranged according to your wishes, and you decide how long to stay at each stop. The driver knows the route and parking points.

Guided or with a driver?

These are two different services. On a driver-led tour, the vehicle and driving are yours; the driver runs the programme with route and parking knowledge, but does not provide commentary inside the museum. If commentary is required, a professional guide should be requested separately. Clarifying this from the outset prevents any difference in expectations during the day.

How much can be covered in one day?

It is important to be realistic: in Istanbul, three, at most four main stops can be comfortably visited in one day. As the stops within the historical peninsula are close to each other, the day is used more efficiently. Trying to fit the Bosphorus line and both sides into the same day means a significant part of the day will be spent on the road.

Timing and crowds

In the historical peninsula, the early morning hours are noticeably quieter. In the afternoon, both crowds and traffic increase. On the Bosphorus line, midday and afternoon light are better. This order is taken into account when planning the programme.

What should be discussed at the time of booking

The start time and pick-up address, the areas you wish to visit, the age profile of the group and walking capacity, whether there will be a lunch break, and the estimated finishing time. For groups with elderly guests or small children, the number of stops is reduced and break times are extended.
